Artwork and Design
It depends which way you're ordering, and the difference is worth knowing.
In the HeadBuilder
JPEG, PNG and WebP, up to 32 MB each, at any pixel dimensions. Upload the biggest, best version you have — we take the full-resolution original before anything gets scaled for the screen.
Just about anything you've got. Because every file is handled by a person, this is by far the more flexible route:
About raster artwork. Ideally, don't enlarge it before sending it. Send us your file at 300 dpi at full size, or 600 dpi at half size — for a 22″ head that's 6600 × 6600 pixels either way. We know that isn't always possible, and we'll do whatever we can with what you send. But the further your file is from those specs, the more the print will soften. We can generally work with the small image off your website; just don't expect it to look like a full-size original.
About vector artwork. Send it in whatever format you have. Vector scales infinitely without any loss, so it's the best possible starting point and we recommend it wherever you've got it.
Other file types. Artwork built in Word, Publisher or PowerPoint usually isn't a great starting point for a drumhead, but send it anyway — we'll tell you honestly whether we can work with it.
When in doubt, send it to us before you order. We'd rather look first.
